THE INVENTION Appellant claims a method for raising the level of high density cholesterol and reducing the level of low density cholesterol in a human subject. Claim 9 is illustrative and reads as follows: 9. A method of raising the level of high density cholesterol and reducing the level of low density cholesterol in a human subject comprising administering to said subject between about 50 milligrams and about 1000 milligrams of trans-resveratrol daily.
