which comprises the steps of:
treating the compounds of the formula I, II, or III in a
solvent or a suspending agent with 0.005 to 5% by weight of an
oxide, a hydroxide, a carbonate, a bicarbonate, or a
carboxylate of a metal of groups 1a, 2a, 2d, or 7b of the
periodic table of the elements,
stirring the solution or suspension, and
isolating the phosphorous compound.
