BACKGROUND
The appellant's invention relates to a rotary valve seal
assembly. An understanding of the invention can be derived
from a reading of claims 2 through 14, a copy of which appears
in the appendix to the appellant's brief.2
The prior art references of record relied upon by the
examiner in rejecting the appealed claims are:

groove bottom."
