A composition for suppressing an immune response in an animal upon administration to said animal, said composition consisting essentially of: an immunosuppressive concentration of a ganglioside, wherein said ganglioside is G ; and M4 a physiologically acceptable carrier for said ganglioside. Claim 9 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Yates in view of Fabricius, further in view of DeLoach. Claim 11 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Yates.
