          of at least 1000 liters vapor/m /24 hours at 40EC. and 80%2
          relative humidity, where the pressure sensitive adhesive
          coating composition contains hydroxyalkyl acrylate in the
          amount of 15 to 40% by weight (Brief, page 2). Illustrative
          claim 21 is reproduced below:
               21. A surgical or medical dressing comprising a backing
          material coated with a continuous water vapor permeable,
          pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising a polymer
          derived from monomers consisting essentially of:
                    a) from about 50 to 80% by weight of alkyl acrylate
                    or methacrylate wherein the alkyl group contains
          from about 4 to 12 carbon atoms;
                    b) from about 15 to 40% by weight of hydroxyalkyl
                    acrylate or methacrylate wherein the alkyl group
                    contains from about 2 to 4 carbon atoms;
                    c) from about 0 to 35% by weight of alkyl acrylate
                    or methacrylate wherein the alkyl group contains
                    from about 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
                    d) from about 0 to 10% by weight of glycidyl
          acrylate                 or methacrylate; and
                    e) from about 0 to 10% by weight of acrylic acid,
          the dressing having a water vapor transmission rate of at
          least 1000 liters vapor/m /24 hours at 40EC and 80% relative2
