Appeal No. 1997-1737 Page 2 Application No. 08/330,168 BACKGROUND The appellants' invention involves a bushing apparatus and method for making fiber from a molten material such as molten glass (specification, p. 1). A copy of the claims under appeal is set forth in the appendix to the appellants' brief. The prior art references of record relied upon by the examiner in rejecting the appealed claims are: Glaser et al. (Glaser) 3,512,948 May 19, 1970 Grubka et al. (Grubka) 4,488,891 Dec. 18, 1984 Fowler 4,740,224 Apr. 26, 1988 Claims 1 to 9 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Fowler in view of Grubka and Glaser.
