correlation detecting means for detecting degree
of correlation between the plurality of units formed by
said forming means; and
interpolating means for interpolating the image
signal input by said input means according to the

stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(b) as being anticipated
by Abe.
Claims 15, 21, 27, and 34 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C.
§ 103(a) as being unpatentable over Abe and Tai.
Claim 31 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as
being unpatentable over Abe and Parulski.
