Appeal No. 1998-0883 Application 08/498,570 This is a decision on appeal under 35 U.S.C. § 134 from the final rejection of claims 1, 3, 5, and 7. Claim 2 stands objected to as depending from a rejected base claim. Claims 4 and 6 have been canceled. We reverse. BACKGROUND The disclosed invention is directed to a color image forming apparatus and method that avoids direct superimposition of the dots that make up the color images. The centers of the dots are shifted slightly from each other so they are not directly superimposed, which tends to reduce undesirable moiré pattern effects. Claim 1 is reproduced below. 1.
