Further details of this appealed subject matter are set forth in representative independent claim 1 which reads as follows: 1. A process for bleaching pulp comprising the steps of: separating from a delignified pulp metals and metal ions to a flow of liquid; bleaching the pulp; and contacting the flow of liquid containing metals and metal ions to the bleached pulp under conditions whereby the metals and metal ions are adsorbed into the bleached pulp to thereby remove said metals and metal ions from the flow of liquid.
