Appeal No. 1999-1847 Application No. 08/810,581 BACKGROUND The appellant's invention relates to a remote ink fountain selection method and apparatus. An understanding of the invention can be derived from a reading of exemplary claim 7, which is reproduced below. 7. A method for aiding remote ink fountain selection comprising the steps of: digitizing sample images and providing each said sample image with an identification; digitizing a printed signature image from a printing press which corresponds to at least one of the sample images; comparing the digitized printed signature image to the digitized sample images; and outputting the identification of the digitized sample image upon a match with the digitized signature image. The prior art reference of record relied upon by the examiner in rejecting the appealed claims is: Wuhrl et al. (Wuhrl) 5,163,012 Nov. 10, 1992 Claims 7-12 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 112, first paragraph as failing to provide an enabling disclosure.
