Appeal No. 2001-1679 Page 2 Application No. 08/849,336 BACKGROUND The appellant's invention relates to a stair or ladder steps of the plate-shaped step type, where plate members bent downwards are provided on all four rims of the stepping surface (specification, p. 1).
