BACKGROUND
The appellant's invention relates to a stair or ladder steps of the plate-shaped
step type, where plate members bent downwards are provided on all four rims of the
stepping surface (specification, p. 1). A copy of the claims under appeal is set forth in
the appendix to the appellant's brief.
The prior art references of record relied upon by the examiner in rejecting the
appealed claims are:

Claim 6 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Lister
or Kümmerlin in view of either Krämer or Layher.
