          Appellants’ invention is directed to a tripod type constant                 
          velocity universal joint.  Independent claim 1 is representative            
          of the subject matter on appeal, and a copy of that claim, as               
          reproduced from the Appendix to appellants’ brief, is attached to           
          this decision.                                                              

          The prior art references of record relied upon by the                       
          examiner are:

          Beduhn et al. (Beduhn)        6,003,229      Dec. 21, 1999                  

          Claim 1 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(b) as                         
          anticipated by Otsuka.                                                      

          Claim 4 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being                   
          unpatentable over Otsuka in view of Beduhn.                                 

          Claim 5 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being                   
          unpatentable over Otsuka in view of Murphy.
