DECISION ON APPEAL
This is a decision on an appeal from the final rejection of
claims 1-19, which are all of the claims in the application.
The subject matter on appeal relates to a method of preparing
a low-calorie, low-fat foodstuff, which comprises adding a maltitol
composition as an ingredient when preparing the foodstuff as a
substitute for at least a portion of a fat-containing ingredient.
The appealed subject matter also relates to a low-calorie, fat-free
food stuff including salad dressing comprising fat-free salad
dressing ingredients and maltitol in an effective amount to impart
