Appeal No. 2002-0384 Application No. 09/111,849 updating said first event record in response to each event that occurs within a first period, said first period commencing in response to occurrence of said first event, said first period corresponding to the time frame; and determining, based upon said plurality of event records, that said certain number of events occurred within the time frame. The prior art references of record relied upon by the examiner in rejecting the appealed claims are: Bell et al. (Bell) 5,223,827 Jun. 29, 1993 Freund 5,987,611 Nov. 16, 1999 (filed May 06, 1997) Wright et al. (Wright) 6,004,276 Dec. 21, 1999 (filed Mar. 03, 1997) Claims 1 through 3, 6 through 10, 13 through 15, 18, and 19 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Bell in view of Wright. Claims 4, 5, 11, 12, 16, and 17 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Bell in view of Wright and Freund.
