Appeal No. 2002-1399 Application No. 09/121,254 specify a retention time provides more efficient use of system memory resources. Col. 3, ll. 1-3. We also observe that Yaker’s system 100 detects if a received message file has been designated by the caller so as to allow deletion after a selected time period. Yaker further teaches that a message, if not designated by the caller, may be stored indefinitely -- that is, as a default, automatic deletion is prohibited. We have considered all of appellants’ arguments, but are unpersuaded of error in the rejection of instant claim 1. We thus sustain the section 103 rejection of the claim. For purposes of the instant appeal, appellants admit (Reply Brief at 1) that the claims stand or fall together. The dependent claims fall with representative claim 1. See 37 CFR § 1.192(c)(7). We therefore sustain the rejection of claims 1-5 under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Yaker. -6-Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 NextLast modified: November 3, 2007
