                                                    BACKGROUND                                                            
                     The appellant's invention relates generally to electrical switches and, more                         
              particularly, to a general purpose, consumer electrical interrupt switch (specification, p.                 
              1).  A copy of the claims under appeal is set forth in the appendix to the appellant's                      
              brief.                                                                                                      


                     The prior art references of record relied upon by the examiner in rejecting the                      
              appealed claims are:                                                                                        
              Freeman                             2,706,225                           Apr. 12, 1955                       
              Lockard                             3,974,347                           Aug. 10, 1976                       
              Osika                               4,463,228                           July 31, 1984                       


                     Claim 1 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(b) as being anticipated by                             
              Freeman.                                                                                                    


                     Claims 2 to 4, 6, 7 and 9 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being                              
              unpatentable over Freeman in view of Osika.                                                                 


                     Claims 7 to 11 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over                       
              Freeman in view of Osika and Lockard.
