                                  DECISION ON APPEAL                                
              This is a decision on the appeal from the final rejection of          
         claims 1, 3-5, 14, and 15.  Claims 2, 6-13, and 16-20 have been            
         indicated by the Examiner to contain allowable subject matter but          
         are objected to as being dependent on rejected claims.                     
              The disclosed invention relates to a register arrangement             
         which permits a host CPU to optimize register access by combining          
         registers that must be frequently read and those that must be              
         frequently written into first and second groups which are assigned
