Appeal No. 2004-1302 Application No. 09/789,757 arrangement like that disclosed in Wynalda in the recessed cavity or well 22 of Blanco for holding CDs. Further, the above noted advantages of providing for interchangeably mountable hub configurations as set forth by Wynalda at column 4, lines 51-65, would provide ample suggestion to one of ordinary skill in the art for providing a similar hub construction in Blanco as proposed by the examiner. The resulting modification of Blanco would result in a CD holder that includes an interchangeable hub that is a separate insert attachable to a boss in the well, as called for in claim 1. In light of the foregoing, we shall sustain the rejection of claim 1 as being unpatentable over Blanco in view of Wynalda. Claim 2 is unpatentable over the applied references because Blanco’s finger notch 50 satisfies the claimed at least one groove limitation. Claim 3 is unpatentable over the applied references because Blanco states that the holding trays are relatively rigid (column 3, line 55). Claims 4, 5 and 18 are unpatentable over the applied references because the Figures 3 and 6 hub variation of Wynalda comprises resiliently deflectable segments 228 (column 4, line 8) for retaining a CD.
