Appeal No. 2004-1560 Application 09/318,722 request (column 4, lines 26 through 32; column 4, lines 18 through 21). In an alternative embodiment (Figure 15), the server cluster 103 includes a domain name server (DNS) 167. The DNS 167 is used to map or route requests from the client requestors 110 through 153 to a specific server in the server cluster 103. Yu is silent as to any customers hosted on the server cluster 103. In the absence of such customers in Yu, we agree with the appellant’s argument (brief, page 7) that Yu fails to teach “the grouping of customers into groups in which each customer is identified by a domain name,” and the “measurement of the computational resources required to service said requests to each of said customers.” In summary, the anticipation rejection of claims 1 and 2 is reversed. The obviousness rejection of claims 6 and 9 is reversed because the teachings of Martin do not cure the noted shortcoming in the teachings of Yu. 4Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 NextLast modified: November 3, 2007
