Appeal No. 2004-1702 Application 09/182,745 THE REJECTIONS Claims 1, 2, 6, 7, 16, and 17 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being unpatentable over Syeda and Gill. Claims 3-5, 8-15, and 18-20 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being unpatentable over Syeda and Gill, further in view of Goetz. We refer to the rejection (Paper No. 36) (pages referred to as "R__") and the examiner's answer (Paper No. 39) (pages referred to as "EA__") for a statement of the examiner's rejection, and to the brief (Paper No. 38) (pages referred to as "Br__") for a statement of appellants' arguments thereagainst. OPINION The claims are directed to "an object-oriented programming interface for use by a programmer in a computer readable medium [including] a software Interactive Media Viewer (IMV) module" (claim 1); a "programming application for creating an Interactive Multimedia Application (IMA), in a computer readable medium ... [including an] Interactive Multimedia Viewer (IMV) software module" (claims 6 and 11); and "a method for assembling an Interactive Multimedia Application (IMA)... [including an] Interactive Multimedia Viewer (IMV) software module" (claim 16).
