The Reissue Claims On Appeal
26. A quick connector coupling comprising:
a hollow female connector body;
a male member received in said connector body and having an enlarged
annular upset;
a retainer disposed in said connector body and including a locking surface
engaging said upset to secure said male member in said connector
body; and
a latch including a latching surface and a hook, said latch pivots about a
hinge to a latched position, said hook extends outwardly from distal
end of said latch in a direction away from said hinge, wherein said
latching surface extends through a slot defined by a ledge and engages
said upset to further secure said male member in said connector body,
said hook extends underneath said ledge to prevent said latch from
moving out of the latched position.
