Appeal No. 2005-2709 Page 2 Application No. 10/113,648 BACKGROUND The present invention relates to an organic light emitting diode (OLED) and a method of making the same. (Brief, p. 3). Representative claim 1, as presented in the brief, appears below: 1. An organic light emitting diode (OLED), comprising: an organic electroluminescent (EL) layer; a hole transporting layer; an electron transport layer; wherein said organic EL layer comprises one blue emitting host material doped with red and green emitting materials, wherein at least one of the red and green emitting materials has been photo-bleached, and wherein the peaks of the emission spectra for the blue emitting host material, the red emitting material, and the green emitting material do not overlap; wherein said hole transporting layer and said electron transport layer are on opposing sides of EL layer and are in electrical contact with said EL layer; wherein said hole transporting layer, said electron transport layer, and said EL layer together comprise an active portion of said OLED; electrodes on opposing sides of said active portion for providing a bias across said active portion; wherein at least one of said electrodes is transparent.
