installer will strip away a portion of the outer jacket 28 to expose the underlying flat
cable section (column 4, lines 6 through 11). Thus, the marking 36 is “in the region of at
least one end of the length of flat cable” as required by claim 11.
With respect to our recommendation to the examiner, we find that the request for
rehearing has not presented a convincing line of reasoning as to why we should
withdraw it.
Appellant’s request for rehearing has been granted to the extent that our decision
has been reconsidered, but such request is denied with respect to making any
modifications to the decision.
No time period for taking any subsequent action in connection with this appeal
may be extended under 37 CFR § 1.136(a)(1)(iv).
