8. A cosmetic composition comprising:
(a) retinol;
(b) an oil soluble antioxidant;
(c) a compound selected from the group consisting of emulsifiers or
surfactants; and
(d) a branched-chain fatty alcohol ester.
9. A cosmetic composition comprising:
(a) a retinoid compound;
(b) an oil-soluble antioxidant;
(c) a compound selected from the group consisting of emulsifiers or
surfactants, and
(d) a humectant,
said composition being substantially free of irritating compounds.
10. The composition according to claim 9 wherein said composition further
comprises
a branched-chain fatty alcohol ester.
11. The composition according to claim 10 wherein said branched-chain
fatty alcohol ester is
octyl hydroxylstearate.
12. The composition according to claim 9 wherein said retinoid compound
is selected from the group consisting of
retinoic acid,
retinol,
retinaldehyde
and
esters of retinoic acid.
