(a) Every court of this state shall cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to identify and place a deportation hold on any defendant convicted of a felony who is determined to be an undocumented alien subject to deportation.
(b) As used in this section, “cooperate” means to provide the INS and its agents with access to all court records available to the public pursuant to Chapter 3.5 (commencing with Section 6250) of Division 7 of Title 1 of the Government Code and to provide any necessary paperwork within a reasonable time.
