(a) Where any parcel in the benefit district is owned in joint tenancy, tenancy in common, or any other multiple ownership, the owners of that parcel may designate in writing which one of the owners shall be deemed the owner of the parcel for purposes of submitting an assessment ballot pursuant to Section 53753 of the Government Code. In the absence of a designation, paragraph (3) of subdivision (e) of Section 53753 of the Government Code shall apply.
(b) The legal representative of a corporation or an estate owning real property in the benefit district may act on behalf of the corporation or the estate.
