Director or chief mining inspector; employment subject to
collective bargaining agreement; leave of absence
Sec. 8. Subject to section 6(b) of this chapter, if the person
appointed to the position of director or chief mining inspector is an
employee of a coal operator doing business in Indiana whose terms
and conditions of employment are subject to a collective bargaining
agreement at the time of the person's appointment, the operator shall
grant a leave of absence to the person for the period of time that the
person holds the position of director or chief mining inspector.
