Dusty atmosphere; electric motors; welding operations; fire
extinguishers

Sec. 1. (A) In dusty locations, electric motors, switches, lighting
fixtures, and controls shall be protected by reasonable dusttight
construction.
(B) Structures shall be kept reasonably free of coal dust
accumulations.
(C) Where coal is dumped at or near air intake openings,
provisions shall be made to prevent the dust from entering the mine
in such quantities as to create a dangerous condition.
(D) Where repairs are being made to the plant, or where
equipment or material is being used or transported overhead, proper
scaffolding or proper overhead protection shall be provided.
(E) Welding or cutting with arc or flame shall not be done in
dusty atmosphere or dusty locations, and fire-fighting apparatus shall
be readily available during such operations.
