Hospital's duty to notify donee or procurement organization of gift
Sec. 13. If, at or near the time of death of a patient, a hospital
knows that a gift has been or will be made under this chapter or a
release and removal of a part has been permitted under section 4.5 of
this chapter, or that a patient or an individual in transit to the hospital
is identified as a donor, the hospital shall notify the donee if a donee
is named and known to the hospital. If a donee is not known to the
hospital, the hospital shall notify a procurement organization. The
hospital shall cooperate in the implementation of the anatomical gift
or release and removal of a part.
