General Laws of Massachusetts - Chapter 41 Officers and Employees of Cities, Towns and Districts - Section 43 Penalty

Section 43. Each appointing, employing or other officer, who wilfully refuses or neglects to comply with any provision of the two preceding sections shall be punished by a fine of not less than twenty-five nor more than one hundred dollars.
