600.528 Twenty-seventh judicial circuit; Newaygo and Oceana counties.Sec. 528.
(1) Except as provided in subsection (2), the twenty-seventh judicial circuit consists of the counties of Newaygo and Oceana and has 2 judges.
(2) Beginning on the earlier of the following dates, the twenty-seventh judicial circuit has 1 judge:
(a) The date on which a vacancy occurs in the office of circuit judge in the twenty-seventh judicial circuit.
(b) The beginning date of the term for which an incumbent circuit judge in the twenty-seventh judicial circuit no longer seeks election or reelection to that office.

Compiler's Notes: Section 2 of Act 134 of 1988 provides:“Any additional circuit judgeship to be added by election in 1988 shall not be authorized to be filled by election unless each county in the circuit, by resolution adopted by the county board of commissioners, approves the creation of the judgeship and unless the clerk of each county adopting such a resolution files a copy of the resolution with the state court administrator not later than 4 p.m. of the tenth Tuesday preceding the August primary for the election to fill the additional circuit judgeship.”
