“Employee”: Certain members of state, county and local departments, boards, commissions, agencies or bureaus; adjunct professors and regents of University and Community College System of Nevada. Members of state, county and local departments, boards, commissions, agencies or bureaus, whether elected or appointed, who serve without compensation or who receive less than $250 per month compensation, the members of the State Board of Education, adjunct professors of the University and Community College System of Nevada and the members of the Board of Regents of the University of Nevada, while engaged in their designated duties as members and adjunct professors, shall be deemed, for the purpose of chapters 616A to 616D, inclusive, of NRS, employees receiving a wage of $250 per month and, in the event of injury while performing their designated duties, are entitled to the benefits of those chapters.
