Duty to recommend vaccinations for zoonotic diseases; duty to provide veterinary services at level of quality required by chapter.
1. Each licensed veterinarian to whom an animal is brought for treatment shall recommend to the owner of the animal or to the person delivering the animal for treatment that the animal receive the vaccinations for zoonotic diseases that are recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Department of Health and Human Services. The vaccinations must be administered by a licensed veterinarian or under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. The Board may adopt regulations to ensure compliance with the provisions of this subsection.
2. A licensed veterinarian who agrees to perform veterinary services on an animal shall provide the services at the level of quality required by this chapter regardless of the fee, if any, which the veterinarian charges for his services. A violation of this subsection is a ground for disciplinary action.
