2567. Protection of rights exercised under licenses issued by a board of education in a city having a population of one million or more. No person shall forfeit any right given to him under a license issued by a board of education in a city having a population of one million or more, pursuant to this chapter, because of absence while in service in the armed forces of the United States or in the service of the American Red Cross. Any person may at any time within six months after his discharge from service in the armed forces of the United States or the American Red Cross make application to the license issuing authority by affidavit setting forth that he or she has been in service in the armed forces of the United States or the American Red Cross during world war II and has been discharged from such service and that he desires the license theretofore issued to him or to her to be reissued as of the date of such application, and it shall be the duty of the licensing authority to reinstate such license as of the date on which application is made.
