2998-a. Information. 1. The center shall identify available information that is useful for maximizing patient safety, reducing medical errors, and improving health care quality, including information available from federal, state and local agencies. The center shall evaluate reporting requirements and develop recommendations for the legislature to consolidate data collection and eliminate duplicative and unnecessary reporting requirements, and to supplement existing reporting requirements in order to satisfy the requirements of this article.
2. The center shall promote the coordination of the activities of the center with the duties and responsibilities of the department under title one of this article, and with federal and other programs for improving patient safety or health care quality including programs of the national forum for health care quality measurement and reporting (quality forum).
