The court may appoint the clerk of the probate court or some other suitable person at the county seat to act as probate commissioner within the county. If the clerk of the probate court is appointed probate commissioner, the deputy of the clerk has the power to perform any act as probate commissioner that the clerk has, and the clerk is responsible for conduct of the deputy so acting.
