An executory contract of sale made by a testator to convey property devised in a will previously made, is not a revocation of the previous devise, either in law or equity; but the property shall pass by the devise, subject to the same remedies on the agreement, for specific performance or otherwise, against devisees as might be had against the heirs of the testator if the property had descended to them.
