ORS 153.125 to 153.145 establish minimum base fine amounts for violations. Base fine amounts established under ORS 153.125 to 153.145 shall be used in preparing summons for violation citations under ORS 153.051 and for such other purposes as may be provided for in this chapter. Any court of this state may adopt higher base fine amounts for violations subject to the jurisdiction of the court. A political subdivision may establish base fine amounts for violation of ordinances of the political subdivision that are less than or greater than the base fine amounts calculated under ORS 153.125 to 153.145.
