Oregon Statutes - Chapter 431 - State and Local Administration and Enforcement of Health Laws - Section 431.045 - Public Health Officer; appointment; qualifications; duties.

The Director of Human Services shall appoint a physician licensed by the Oregon Medical Board and certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine who shall serve as the Public Health Officer and be responsible for the medical and paramedical aspects of the health programs within the Department of Human Services.
