Oregon Statutes - Chapter 686 - Veterinarians; Veterinary Technicians - Section 686.210 - Oregon State Veterinary Medical Examining Board; appointment; qualifications; term; confirmation; executive director; rulemaking authority.

(1) There is created the Oregon State Veterinary Medical Examining Board, which shall carry out the purposes and enforce the provisions of this chapter. The board shall consist of eight members appointed by the Governor for a term of four years. Appointments made by the Governor to the board may be selected from a list of five names for each appointment suggested by the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association. Five members shall be licensed to practice veterinary medicine, surgery and dentistry in this state. Two members shall be public members. One member shall be a certified veterinary technician. Any appointments to fill vacancies by reason of death, resignation or removal shall be made by the Governor for the residue of the term of the retiring member. All appointments of members of the board by the Governor are subject to confirmation by the Senate in the manner provided in ORS 171.562 and 171.565.

(2) The board may appoint an executive director. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prevent assistance being rendered by the executive director of the board in any hearing called by it.
