§ 30-199. (Expires July 1, 2012) Powers and duties of Council

A. The powers and duties of the Council shall be to:

1. Facilitate the coordination of public school career and technical services, workforce training programs, and efforts among agencies and institutions of the Commonwealth;

2. Receive information and advice from state agencies, authorities and other organizations addressing career and technical education and workforce development as necessary;

3. Recommend policies, legislation, and funding that are needed to support career and technical education in the Commonwealth; and

4. Promote public-private partnerships and collaboration for career and technical education programs throughout the Commonwealth.

B. The Council shall develop recommendations that pertain to policies and goals for career and technical education services, identify career and technical education needs and gaps in services, and address identified needs of career and technical education programs in the Commonwealth. The Council shall submit its recommendations annually to the Governor and the General Assembly, beginning on December 1, 2003.
