§ 51.1-140. Prior service credit statement

Upon becoming an employee, each member shall file with the Board a statement describing all prior service as an employee and any other information the Board may require. Upon review of the statement, the Board shall ascertain the amount of prior service to which the member is entitled. The Board may modify its decision upon application of the member or discovery of material error or fraud. Until the statement is filed, no member or beneficiary of a member shall be eligible to receive any benefits.
