§ 64.1-186. When suit in equity not to be brought to enforce claim of less than twenty dollars

No suit in equity shall be brought for the recovery or enforcement of any such claim the principal whereof does not exceed twenty dollars, unless the person liable or whose estate is liable, being a resident of this Commonwealth, shall have been notified, at least thirty days before the suit was brought that such suit would be brought, if the amount of the claim was not paid within such time.
