§ 18.19.030. Registration required
No person may, for a fee or as a part of his or her position as an employee of a state agency, practice counseling without being registered to practice by the department under this chapter unless exempt under RCW 18.19.040.

Report -- 2008 c 135: "(1) The department of health shall report to the legislature and the governor by December 15, 2011, on:
(a) The number of registered counselors who become certified counselors or certified advisers;
(b) The number, status, type, and outcome of disciplinary actions involving certified counselors and certified advisers beginning on June 12, 2008; and
(c) The state of education equivalency, examination, supervisory, consultation, and continuing education requirements established under chapter 135, Laws of 2008.
(2) The department of health shall also report on cost savings or expenditures to administer the provisions of chapter 135, Laws of 2008 and make recommendations regarding future reports or evaluations." [2008 c 135 § 23.]
