Section 45-49-111.01 - Compensation.

(a) In Mobile County, the compensation of the election officers holding general, special, primary, and municipal elections shall be two hundred dollars ($200) per day for inspectors, one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175) per day for chief clerks, and one hundred fifty dollars ($150) per day for the other election officers. The compensation of the inspectors and chief clerks for attending any mandatory school or training as required by the judge of probate shall be thirty dollars ($30). The compensation of other election officials for attending any mandatory school or training as required by the judge of probate shall be fifteen dollars ($15). The county treasury and, when appropriate, the treasuries of the various municipalities within the county, shall pay such amounts necessary, which, when combined with any amount payable by the state will total the amounts hereinabove provided. The returning officer shall be entitled to mileage allowance according to law in addition to the compensation herein provided.

(b) Any payments made to election officials in Mobile County during the 2006 election cycle are ratified and confirmed.

(c) Subject to applicable general law, the county commission shall determine the amount of compensation to be paid to the absentee election manager for the performance of his or her duties with respect to absentee ballots for a period approved by the county appointing board not to exceed 120 days prior to and 120 days following an election for which his or her services are required.
