At column 2, lines 34 through 37, Gove indicates that when scenes involve camera motion his system may use more complicated algorithms in which objects are detected and tracked in the scene. Columns 3 and 4 discuss certain design criteria that may exist in the design of an overall scene change detection system as expressed in the title of Gove’s patent as to whether they will or will not be included in the final overall system. Of these, the existence of a camera motion sense ability is one the design criteria options discussed. The teachings of Gove are much more significant than even the examiner appears to realize. The discussion beginning at column 4, line 48 indicates that as a part of determining motion, the spatio-temporal analysis capability as known in the art included the capability of the summation of pixel values in a detection zone. This is discussed in greater detail at column 5 as recognized by the examiner.
