An understanding of the invention can be derived from a reading of exemplary claim 1, which appears in the appendix to the appellants' brief. The prior art references of record relied upon by the examiner in rejecting the appealed claims are: Roessler et al. (Roessler) 4,762,521 Aug. 9, 1988 Lippert et al. (Lippert) 4,861,652 Aug. 29, 1989 Ahr et al. (Ahr) 4,909,802 Mar. 20, 1990 Tracy 5,064,421 Nov. 12, 1991 Claims 1 to 13, 15 to 19 and 21 to 27 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 112, first paragraph, for failing to provide an adequate written description of the invention. Claims 1 to 13 and 22 to 27 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103 as being unpatentable over Lippert.
