Appeal No. 98-0194 Page 16 Application No. 08/132,940 that (1) the user control sets the level of energy desired by the user, (2) the automatic control circuit includes a clock which sets units of time of about a millisecond and an integrator to calculate the amount of energy supplied from the calculated power flow, and (3) the correlation circuit is a comparator which is used to terminate the electrosurgical generator's supply of energy to the active and return leads by altering a drive circuit thereof when the amount of energy calculated equals the reference signal sent from the user control.
