Appeal No. 1999-0515 Page 4 Application No. 08/620,256 The objective of the appellant’s invention is to teach batters to recognize the various spins that are placed on thrown baseballs by pitchers, such as fastballs, curveballs, and sliders, without actually pitching the ball.
