Claim 3 stands rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being unpatentable over Wefler in view of Morris. Claims 4 through 7 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 103(a) as being unpatentable over Wefler in view of Demarest '229.2 Rather than reiterate the examiner's full statement of the above-noted rejections and the conflicting viewpoints advanced by the examiner and appellants regarding the rejections, we make reference to the examiner's answer (Paper No. 19, mailed March 8, 1999) for the reasoning in support of the rejections and to appellants' brief (Paper No. 18, filed 2As noted on page 2 of the examiner's answer, the rejection of claims 1 through 9 under 35 U.S.C. § 112, second paragraph, has now been withdrawn by the examiner in light of certain proposed amendments found in Attachment A of appellants' brief.
